What does Nebosh in Pakistan cover?
The NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) covers the principles relating to health and safety, such as the identification and control of workplace hazards and the practical application of this knowledge. The NEBOSH IGC syllabus takes a risk management approach based on best practice and international standards, such as the International Labor Organisation (ILO) codes of practice. Local laws and cultural factors may form part of the study programme where relevant and appropriate.
The qualification also features a practical workplace assessment.
How to assess Nebosh IGC?
While the units IGC1 and GC2, one two-hour written examination assesses each units. So each written examination consists of ten ‘short-answer’ questions and one ‘long-answer’ question. However all questions are compulsory and external examiners appointed by NEBOSH marks the scripts of candidate.
While in unit GC3, one two-hour practical examination carries out in the candidate’s own workplace to assess GC3. So the assessment normally took within 10 days of a written examination. The NEBOSH internally assesses the course provider and externally moderate the practical examination and the course includes a requirement to write a short report.

How to recognize the qualification?
Hence holders of the International General Certificate becomes Associate Membership (AIOSH) of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH). The qualification also meets the academic requirements for Technical Membership (Tech IOSH) of IOSH and Associate Membership (AIIRSM) of the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM).
While the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) has accredited and credit rated the NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety. So it sits in the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) at SCQF Level 6 with 15 SCQF credit points.
