What is NEBOSH Closing Interview:

NEBOSH closing interview is compulsory one to one online meeting with representative of your learning partner. Which is schedule shortly after the submission of IG1 exam paper. As it’s a vital part of NEBOSH IGC open book exam, your closing interview will take place on any online platform like skype, zoom or Microsoft Teams etc. Your response/answers video will be recorded and submitted to NEBOSH.

NOTE: NEBOSH requires this interview within 2 weeks of your exam submission. If you fail to join your submission will not be marked.

 

Purpose of NEBOSH IG1 Closing Interview:

The purpose of closing interview is to verify your identity and to assure that the exam was attempted by yourself without any external help. To do so, you will be asked questions about your submission to assess your understanding of exam questions. Your response will be recorded for verification purposes.

NOTE: Keep this in mind that closing interview is compulsory but not considered as a part of assessment. Therefore, it is not marked or graded and will not have any effect on your final result.

 

How Closing Interview is Scheduled:

The closing interview of your IG1 open book exam is scheduled by setting a specific date and time when the interviewer and learner can meet virtually to conduct interview. The scheduling process considers the availability of both parties, ensuring that the meeting takes place at a convenient time. The learners are informed of their closing interview schedule via email, and WhatsApp.

 

What Do You Need For Closing Interview?

You will need the following things to be ready before interview:

Identification

You will need any identification document that you can show to your interviewer to prove your identity.

You can use:

  • A passport
  • Driving license
  • National Identity Card

For Interview Through Online Link/Platform

Learning partners will allocate different date and time for you interview. So, before your turn make sure to have:

  • A Laptop or mobile with camera and working microphone
  • Stable internet connection
  • Suitable locations where you are sitting alone for about 15 mints

 

Complete Process of NEBOSH IG1 Closing Interview:

The final stage of your IG1 open book exam for NEBOSH IGC is the closing interview. Below is the simplest process of the NEBOSH IG1 closing interview for your understanding:

  • As first step the interviewer start by introducing themselves and reading a passage (provided by NEBOSH as mandatory) that explains the purpose of the closing interview.
  • The candidate will be asked for consent to record the interview as a mandatory requirement of NEBOSH.
  • Learner will be required to show a valid form of identification, where any of these i.e, passport, driver’s license, or national identification card.
  • After showing identity proof, and on satisfaction of interviewer, the learner will be required to show the room where he/she is giving interview. On assuring that the learner is on their own in their room and that learner do not have any extra resources, the interviewer will begin the next phase.
  • In the next phase, the interviewer will ask the learner three questions from a list set by NEBOSH designed to check knowledge and understanding of the exam topics. The questions are based on the exam papers and the answers the learner have submitted. Reading the exam paper thoroughly might help refreshing the memory.

 

Post-Interview Procedures: What Happens Next?

Your exam result will be announced according to NEBOSH’s timeline (50 working days after final exam) if your interviewer is satisfied with your interview.

Your closing interview recording is shared with NEBOSH, in case your interviewer suspects any malpractice, they will notify NEBOSH, who will contact you to discuss.

Under these circumstances NEBOSH may conduct an investigation to determine if there is malpractice in line with their policy and procedures. The same applies if NEBOSH suspects malpractice at any point during your qualification or if you have plagiarized content for your IG1.
